The lab attends the ICSA Conference 2019 in Athens!

Last week, Daniel, David and Estela attended the International cellular Senescence Association Conference 2019, which took place at the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens (BRFAA), Greece.

During the meeting, Daniel gave a talk entitled "Effects of chemotherapy-induced SASP in lung cancer progression", explaining how we have demonstrated that certain platinum-based chemotherapeutic treatments can have detrimental effects through the induction of senescence and the implementation of the SASP in lung cancer.

On the second day of the retreat, Estela also present her results during one of the poster sessions. As a Young ICSA member, Estela also participated in organising social activities during the conference.

As always it was a fantastic opportunity to catch up with the latest advancements in the field of cellular senescence happening all over the world, as well as it was great to get new ideas and feedbacks for our future experimental studies.

We can't wait for the next ICSA meeting, which will take place in Japan next year!
